About the Founders

K.Ratna & Mr.Ravindra Kunala

Arise & Shine is a dream of a person called,Mr Ravindra who was effected by polio in his childhood. He was brought by a “Salesians Society“ called, Don Bosco Prem Nivas, a home for Orphans and Physically challenged children in Mangalagiri Town, Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, India.

He was neglected by his own parents and community in his child age, and lost the love and affection and care of his own parents.

There after Don Bosco Premnivas former director Fr. K.P.Mathew promoted him for a diploma course in (Rehabilitation & Integrated Community Development) sponsored by Action Health, presently known as skill share international, an England based voluntary organization sent a British PhysioTherapist from wigan called Ms.Ann Marie Sandelands to India to conduct the course. She had mentored him very much than any one in his life. And of course he is very greatful to the lot of people who encouraged him in every aspect. So, inspired from his own life he has started a society called Arise & Shine with the help of Co-Founder his wife, Mrs. Ratna Kunala. He strongly determined to help and share his love and affection to the similar children who were struggling to lead their lives.

Arise & Shine Society is dedicated to the most disadvantage children, physically challenged children, and as well as people in the community.

Arise and Shine Society is a very small non profit humanitarian and social development organization which has been active in the filed of children's needs, concerns and rights, and as well as in community development.

Its activities focus on neglected and abandoned children and orphans as well as disadvantaged families and physically challenged people.

Our Vision

Children, normal or physically challenged should have an equal opportunity to live a better quality of life in their homes. If a child disabled or normal cannot stay with his / her biological family, his / her right to care, protection should be still guaranteed. This is the basic principle according to which Arise & Shine Society carries out its activities in rural areas of Krishna and Guntur Districts of Andhra Pradesh , India .

Arise & Shine works with different variety projects in many educational and development related endeavors. Our mission is to address the issues concerning access to education by financially very poor children, ensure every child has access to education that is meaningful and continue their education with out any disturbance.
