| Gender Issues |
Actually Arise and Shine does not entertain or show any partiality towards the children. But pays little attention on girl children. Because we have a few good reasons why we are concerning more for girl children.
The facts are …
- In the Society male children are given more important than girl child.
- In some houses male children are dominated and girl children gets less important and care parent attitude towards the girl children is very limited
- In so many families parents thinks that girl children are the ,main source of Income to their families
- In the society people think girl children works more perfectly compare with male children.
These are the main reasons for Arise and Shine Society pays more attention on girl children.

Aims & Objectives
Although Arise and shine was not established as an organization of disabled people itself, it recognized that the understanding of negative attitudes, oppression and discrimination experienced by disabled person and him self was vital to the organization if it was to work effectively. In choosing staff and trustees an affirmative action policy was promoted and a target set that at least 50% of staff and trustees should be disabled people.
Arise and Shine Society is the organization that has a perfect blend of disability and non-disability at all levels - an innovative organization of abilities and commitment and its approach to address the real need.
In fact the priorities for most poor disabled people were no different from their non disabled neighbors e.g. food and clean water, shelter, health care, schooling for their children and the means to make a livelihood. Non government organizations were supporting “integrated” development work which focused on the holistic needs of poor people, and gender issues were beginning to be raised, but disabled people were generally excluded from their grass roots development work.

- To promote, assist in and maintain all activities carried on in conformity with the above objectives of the Society and conductive to the welfare of the beneficiaries by any other person, association or organization, either Government or non-Government.
- To foster awareness of related issues such as health, prevention of disability, rehabilitation, income generation and other developmental activities for people; and in furtherance where necessary take up pilot and model programmes on such issues.

Ability Building
Polio is one of the major causes for disability. In 1950 s to 1990 s 1000s of people affected by polio, But in 1995 to 2005, In these period government has taken lot of preventatives to bring down the number of polio effected victims. How ever the incidents of polio victims decreased, the impact of the polio remains. Hence arise and Shine Society looks in the process of rehabilitation for the physically challenged people.

Each year we screen the polio effected people or children. Asses them for proper treatment some children might need only AIDS and APPLIANCES. But some where need surgical corrections to straighten their deformities. We give complete follow up for each process. Surgical Correction is very costly process. This process takes a long time for recovery and as well as to find the correct donor to meet the cost of surgery.
